Dearest Roy

I still can't believe you gone!!

What can I say - we had our ups and downs but you were family!! Thank you for taking Wayne and myself under your wing (though he does have inherited some of your bad habits 🤣) thank you for giving me the experience of working with children who are now amazing adults in their own right and also to the friends and experiences I had/still have along the way! R.I.P. Roy and first Bailey's on me when I see you again xxx

It's with immense pride and profound sadness that our family reflects on the incredible life of Roy. We are so incredibly proud of everything he achieved with The Imps. His dedication to the team touched the lives of thousands of people, creating a legacy that will undoubtedly live on.

The outpouring of messages, thanks, and condolences since his passing has truly touched our entire family. We couldn't be prouder to see how many lives he enriched.

I'll personally cherish the unforgettable month I spent with the team at the Edinburgh Tattoo. The memories we made there will stay with me forever – experiences truly unique to anyone involved with The Imps, where connections were sparked with people from all walks of life. I even still have the Russian uniform gifted to me by some of the international military personnel we met; a moment of unexpected camaraderie that only Roy and the Imps could have facilitated.

While there's no doubt The Imps and everyone associated with it were as much Roy's family as we were, we also want to remember the deep love and unwavering support he gave my grandmother, Sybil, throughout the years. We'll always treasure those Christmases filled with laughter and stories, and I'm personally grateful for the invaluable advice and mentorship he offered me.

Roy will be truly missed, but as we mourn his loss, we also celebrate a life exceptionally well-lived.

I knew of Roy from the Jackney project and can remember him well. After meeting him again after nearly 30 years he not only remembered me but welcomed both of my youngest children into the team. Roy showed the children respect, kindness and gave them a family.

Rest easy Roy.

My memories of Roy are of one of the most considered, caring, gentlemen I've ever met. He has had such a big influence on everyone's lives, not just the many, many children and young people who were Imps!
