It is with heavy hearts that we share the following statement.

Roy Pratt MBE, founder and Team Director of The Imps Motorcycle Display Team, passed away on the evening of May 25th 2025 at the age of 86.

Roy lived a full and colourful life, supporting thousands of young lives through his extraordinary leadership.

From the Sea Scouts to the Hackney Adventure Holiday Project, from his tireless work as a child welfare officer in East London schools to founding The Imps Motorcycle Display Team; Roy inspired generations.

He showed countless young people a world they might never have imagined, from local parades to global tours in Canada, the Middle East, and the Edinburgh Tattoo. His impact was recognised far and wide:

– Motorcycle News Hero 2024

– Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service

– Member of the British Empire

His legacy lives on in every young life he helped shape.

Rest in peace to our founder, our leader, our friend.

The Imps Motorcycle Display Team remains strong. Roy’s contingency plans are in place, and the team will continue with the same spirit and pride he instilled in us all.

The Imps Motorcycle Display Team
